Continue to the ancient city of Troy whose history covers a period of about 3400 years with nine layers of settlements (Troy I to IX). King Priam’s glorious city, which can be found in the Iliad, Homer’s epic poem, was immortalized through mythological characters: Helen, Menelas, Paris, Agamemnon, Chilles, Hector..and the legendary Trojan Wooden Horse, a reconstruction of which stands at the entrance of the site. Research and excavations conducted in the Troia and Troas region reveal that the region has been inhabited for 8000 years. Throughout the centuries, Troy has acted as a cultural bridge between the Troas region and the Balkans, Anatolia, the Aegean and Black Sea regions through migration, occupation, trade and the transmission of knowledge.
