Breakfast. Check out and proceed to Windhoek. Upon arrival, City Tour with the Craft Market.
Windhoek City: With an estimated population of 450,000, Namibia’s capital Windhoek is the largest city in Namibia, and somehow, even the only “city”.
The attractive town of Windhoek lies at an altitude of 1650 meters in a valley surrounded by the Eros mountains in the east and the Auas mountains in the south. Towards the west lies the Khomas Highland that borders on the Namib Desert.
Windhoek is – for an African city – very clean and provincial. The last few years have changed Windhoek very much, with modern new buildings, such as the new Independence Museum and the gigantic state house in the south of the city. However, you can also find many buildings from the German colonial era, which contribute to the charm of the city and a Windhoek city tour.
Windhoek City Tour: Drive through the capital to various viewpoints at the Schwerinsburg, the Christuskirche, the “ink palace” house of parliament, the parliament garden, the state house, the Independence Avenue, the train station and a drive through Katutura.
Windhoek Craft Centre: The Namibia Craft Centre is located in the Old Breweries building in central Windhoek. The Centre provides retail space for some 40 craft enterprises, represented by all ethnic groups of Namibia who sell their handicraft. The Centre also has several Restaurants.
