We arrived at Masai Mara Game reserve on 12th and 13th March 2011 and visited the most spectacular areas of the Game park.
Masai Mara National Reserve, a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains, located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland is the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya- Africa. Located in the southwest of Kenya, Masai Mara is covering an area of 1510 square km (583 square miles), at an Altitude of 5,300 feet (1,600 metres).
Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. This reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including more than two million wild-beast, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration. The annual wild migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve.
