JAKARTA

Jakarta lies on a low, flat and plain  swampy areas, the parts of the city farther inland are slightly higher. It is easily flooded during the rainy season. The draining of swamps for building purposes and the continuous decrease of upland forest vegetation have increased the danger of floods. With such an excess of water in the soil, Jakarta has a shortage of clean drinking water, for which there is increasing demand. The area is quite fertile for fruit and other horticulture, as most of the soil is of old volcanic origin.

Jakarta  is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia. Located on the northwest of Java Island,  Jakarta has rapidly expanded through the years, absorbing many villages in nearby areas. Some of the most prestigious shopping malls and upscale hotels are located right in the heart of Central Jakarta. Here you can enjoy the 24 hours excitements of Jakarta. We visited Merdeka Square, Presidential Palace, National Monument and National Museum which is reputed to be the finest in South East Asia.
