The fascinating history of Cuba’s capital awaits everyone to know about the revolutionary heroes of the country, walk through the cobbled streets of Old Havana and see the beautiful Cuban Baroque Buildings, the historic forts, museums, legendary restaurants, and the lively public squares. Havana is a city made of stroll, with plenty of cultural attractions. The best part of the visit is to meet the friendly local people who are proud of their culture and its historic treasures.

Old Havana is a UNESCO World Heritage site, covering Elegant Neoclassical and Baroque Buildings, cobbled squares and narrow streets, many have been carefully restored to their former beauty. This include the magnificent Cathedral de San Cristobal, the Castillo de la Real Fuerza an impressive military fortress, Plaza Vieja the popular public squares, Plaza de Armas, Palacio de los Capitanes, Museo de la Ciudad (city museum) etc.

Beautiful El Capitolio, inaugurated in 1929. Rising from the city skyline, this grand building is reminiscent of the American Capitol building, The structure displays a blend of Neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles and was the seat of government until 1959. after the Cuban Revolution,  Cuba’s Communist parliament. However, it remains a striking landmark for those wandering around Havana; its huge dome is visible from almost anywhere in the city.

Besides the rich history of Havana and Old Havana, the island of Cuba has more than 5700 kilometers of picturesque coastline. Varadero about two hours drive which is one of the most beautiful beaches. Drive south from here for about four hours to the colonial history of World Heritage city Trinidad, both we have seen before arriving in Havana.

Vintage cars in Cuba are part of daily life with most classic cars being used as taxis. Some of them look brand new, painted in vivid colours and transport tourists around. Other classic American cars are preserved like museum pieces. These are the originals that are rarely seen out. Fan of classic cars? Cuba is the place to go.There are still over 60,000 classic American cars in Cuba. Most of them are refurbished using original parts brought mainly from the US, mostly see Chevrolets, Fords, Buicks and in less quantity Cadillac, Mercury, Dodge, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chrysler and Plymouth; also some classic European automobiles like Opel, Citroen, and MG. We had rides in many of these cars during our stay in Cuba.
