Niagara

11-07-2011

We arrived in Toronto (Canada) on the 11th July 2011, after refreshing, we were transferred to Niagara Falls, about 130 km from Toronto. We had been to USA side of Niagara falls in Sept 2010, it was fantastic, but I was told, Canada side of the fall is much exciting and awesome. We stayed near to the falls, Hotel Sheraton, so that we had enough time to see the falls elaborately.

Niagara Falls, a natural wonder, are consists of  Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls and the Canadian side of Niagara Falls located between Goat Island and Table Rock is known as the Horseshoe Falls. With the highest flow rate and beauty, Horseshoe Niagara Falls becomes a holiday spot for millions of people every year.

There are over 500 waterfalls in the world are taller than Niagara Falls. But Niagara Falls is the biggest waterfalls in the world by the volume of whopping water siphoned at an average of 2840000 liters per second and the height of the fall 56 metres.

Best way to watch the Falls here are taking a Maid of the Mist boat tours, from behind the caves accessible by elevator, from the sky hovering over by a helicopter, or gazing from observation towers. Taking one of the best is Maid of the Mist boat tours, which takes you to the falls and get wet completely.

If you have still time and  like nature, visit in the afternoon  the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. This 100-acre space is home to dozens of meticulously maintained gardens – cared for by students at the on-site horticulture school – featuring thousands of species of plants. During the summer, guided horse-and-carriage tours allow you to explore the gardens in style. The gardens are also home to the Butterfly Conservatory, where several thousand butterflies flit and flutter among brightly colored flowers.
