As Late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri passed away in Tashkent, his memories have been treasured in the form of a monument by the Uzbek Government as a mark of respect to the great man. He is a much respected man in Uzbekistan. There is a monument in the central part of the city on the crossroad dedicated to the person who had greatly contributed to the development of India, surrounded by a garden, the statue of Shastriji is present in the center and the street leading to this place has been named as Shastri Street. Every Indian visiting Tashkent should visit this place and pay respects to one of the greatest PM’s India has ever had.
